This Weekend On the Pass – April 24-25, 2022

Happy Earth Day!

It looks like it will be a bit before they get the pass open but we are all grateful for the April rain & snow.  It’s supposed to be dry this weekend though so it’s a perfect chance to get out and enjoy the great outdoors before the crowds arrive for summer.

Join retired National Park Service Ranger Mary Anne Carlton as she shares her extensive knowledge of the ecology and history of the Arnold Rim Trail and its environs. These gently paced walks meet at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in White Pines at 9 am, follow the paved ADA trail, and are about 2 miles round trip. Walks proceed rain or shine!

“Get to Know Your Conifers” is a delightful tree identifier walk on the Arnold Rim Trail with Mary Anne scheduled for Sunday, April 24th, Sunday, May 15th, and Saturday, June 4th. Learn everything you need to know about identifying trees in the Arnold area.

Big Trees State Park is hosting a seminar on the “Science and Conservation of Giant Sequoia Forests in a Rapidly Changing World” Presented by Anthony Ambrose and Wendy Baxter in Jack Knight Hall on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 from 10am -12pm. Once you’re at the park, you’ll want to take a hike!

If you’re looking for something a little more civilized, the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance is hosting their Spring Wine Weekend in Murphys this weekend.

Murphys Creek Theatre is presenting Every Brilliant Thing this weekend only for live theater lovers.

Jazz Cellars will be kicking off their summer music this weekend.

Murphys Irish Pub will be hosting live music all weekend. You can count on them for live music year-round.

Enjoy Long Fridays with live music at Boyle-McDonald featuring Daniel Kushnir tonight.
