Hermitfest 2018 is Almost Here!

The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association will be throwing its annual Party on the Pass / Scenic Celebration (better known as Hermitfest) on September 8, 2018, in Hermit Valley. The smoke has cleared up and we are expecting beautiful weather so come on up and join us.

The fun starts at 11 am.  We’ll have live music until about 8 pm when the folks with the telescopes will start setting up for a little star gazing. Plan on all day music with food and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase and a few select vendors on hand to showcase their work.

The line-up this year will include Bill Welles, Grover Anderson, Jimbo Scott, Ten Dollar Pony, Nathan Ignacio and Sambossa.

The Bear Valley Fat Tire Festival will be taking place the same weekend so bring your bike and plan on getting a ride in early in the day.  Get more information here.

For those of you who want to plan to see your favorites, the music schedule is:

Noon -1:00    Nathan Ignacio
1:20 – 2:20     Sambossa
2:40 – 3:40     Ten Dollar Pony
4:00 – 5:30     Bill Welles Band
6:00 – 8:00     Grover Anderson – Jimbo Scott

Thank you to our major event sponsors Cal-Waste and the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce.  There are many folks who make this event possible with either money or time and we want you to know about them all so visit the Hermitfest page to see the entire list and make sure to thank them when you see them.

Visit our Hermitfest page for more details!

If you are interested in knowing more about the Donnell Fire which has impacted our area most recently you can read up on the latest news here. For those of you familiar with the area, the Pacific Crest Trail is closed between Highway 4 and Highway 108 and Spicer Reservoir is closed to watercraft, not because the fire is near Highway 4, but because those areas provide access to the fire area and the fire folks want everybody out of the way and safe.

Please contact us at info@scenic4.org if you would like to be a sponsor or participate as a vendor or exhibitor.  We encourage local organizations to join us for the day.

And, thank you Ron Schaner for all your work on this event!
