Happenings Along the Byway Summer 2021

Just a heads up that events are coming back and you’ll want to plan ahead if you’ll be visiting the area or driving the byway in the next few weeks:

The annual Arnold Independence Day parade will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 10am on Blagen Road in White Pines.  The highway will not be closed this year.  The Sierra Nevada Peddlers Fair will also take place in Arnold this weekend on Saturday & Sunday in the parking lot at Bristol’s Ranch House Cafe.  While there will be no fireworks this year, Ironstone Vineyards will host live music and an outdoor movie.

The Calaveras Arts Council will present Music in the Park at Brice Station on June 23rd, 2021 from 6:30-8:30pm. Pinetop Boogie will be performing.  The music is free but please do not bring outside alcohol to this venue.  Wine, beer, and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

The Arnold Classic Car Show will be back on July 17th, 2021 at White Pines Community Park on Blagen Road from 8am-3pm.

The Death Ride will be happening on Saturday, July 17th, 2021.  The road will be closed from Markleeville to Lake Alpine from 5am-4pm.  Please note that the route of this year’s ride is different from recent years when the ride ended at Hermit Valley.

The Bear Valley Music Festival will be taking place in the village from July 23-August 1, 2021, and will feature Classical, Rock, Jazz, and Bluegrass performances.

A Kids Fishing Day will be happening at Lake Alpine on July 24th, 2021.

A Kids Fishing Day will be taking place in Markleeville on July 31st, 2021.

The Calaveras Arts Council will present Music in the Park at the White Pines Community Park on August 18th, 2021 from 6:30-8:30pm featuring the Calaveras Community Band.

The Lube Room in Dorrington, Brice Station just above Murphys, and the Snowshoe Brewing Company in Arnold will be featuring live music throughout the summer.

Sadly, the annual Hermitfest Celebration will not be happening this fall but will be back in 2022 so watch for more information here and on our Facebook page.
